Rollflower Tattoos
A rollflower tattoo is a coined term by tattoo artist Carrie Metz Caporusso who came up with the concept of using our natural body shapes as visual "stems" for flowers. These unique designs turn body rolls (fatty areas on our bodies) into blossoming flowers or plant life! It's meant to be used as a way of appreciating our bodies the way they are.
After speaking with Carrie, they let me know that their goal was to see more studios and artists regularly offer this kind of work to folks, and I've adopted it into my regular tattoo practice!
How does it work?
Every rollflower tattoo is designed specifically for each client based on the shape of their body. In my booking form, there's a section to book this kind of tattoo which outlines the entire process. Typically, I ask that if you're able to, to send a photo of your back from straight on so I can try to tailor the design uniquely to you. This can also be done in an in-person consultation if preferred.
After I design the piece, during our appointment together I will spend time stenciling each branch or element until you're happy with the outcome.
This experience can feel intimate but also very empowering! If you have any concerns about the process, the appointment, or privacy, please let me know!
My studio is a fat-positive & private space.
